Fully Vaccinated Travellers - Welcome to the England!

The Department of Transport has recently eased travel restrictions for Britons who have been double-vaccinated under the NHS / UK #vaccination programme.

Those who are fully vaccinated (or under 18 years of age) will not need to quarantine or take a day 8 #COVID test after returning from a country on the amber list. For those that travelled from (or to) France in the ten days before entering England (or any country deemed an Amber+ country), the current amber rules apply.

All travellers arriving from a country on the 'amber list' must, on arrival to England:

- quarantine for ten days at home or in the place where the passenger is staying

- undergo a COVID-19 test on or before day two and on day eight post-arrival to the UK

The rules in regards to travellers arriving from a country on the 'red list' remain unchanged.

The Amber rules will be relaxed further, from 4 am 2 August for those coming to England from an amber list country (except for France) to negate the need to self-isolate on arrival or take a day eight post-arrival COVID test if:

• the traveller has been fully vaccinated in Europe or the USA or named countries (Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland and the Vatican City); and

• the vaccine has been authorised by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for Europe, Swissmedic for Switzerland and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the UKA; and

• the final dose of the vaccine has been taken at least 14 days before the traveller's arrival to the UK.

Travellers will still need to undergo a post-arrival day 2 COVID-19 test (as well as pre-arrival COVID-19 Test and complete the passenger locator form).

The latest change will mark further easing our current travel restrictions and a cautious resumption of global travel.

Will there be further relaxations in the future to include other vaccines or vaccination programmes? Time will tell, but for now, this must be good news for the travel industry and international travellers.
